1. The one cookie

If you never sign in, Chopinly sets no cookies at all.
2. Browser storage the app uses
- localStorage — your goals, practice segments and notes (when you use the app without an account, this is your data), plus small preferences: which tool you had open, the analytics range you picked, whether you have seen the landing page.
- Cache Storage (service worker) — copies of the app's own files (scripts, styles, fonts, icons) so Chopinly opens instantly and works offline.
Both are first-party, stay on your device, and are never read by us. They are what makes the app work; they are not used to track you.
3. What we don't use
No analytics cookies or scripts, no advertising or remarketing cookies, no social-media buttons or embeds, no A/B-testing tools, no cross-site tracking of any kind. Chopinly's pages load no scripts from other domains.
4. Why there is no cookie banner
European ePrivacy rules and the guidance of data-protection authorities exempt storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user asked for — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and the local storage an app needs to work — from the consent requirement. Everything Chopinly stores falls in that category. Showing a banner would add friction without adding a choice. If we ever wanted to add a non-essential cookie, we would ask you first, before it is set, and update this page.
5. Our hosting provider
Chopinly is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare's security systems can, in rare cases when they detect automated traffic, set a strictly necessary cookie of their own (for example __cf_bm) to tell people from bots and keep the site up. These are not used for anything else, and we have no other Cloudflare features that set cookies enabled.
6. How to clear everything
In the app: sign out removes the session cookie and keeps your local data; sign out & clear this device removes both. Your browser's settings can also clear cookies and site data for chopinly.com at any time. Clearing local data on a device without an account deletes the only copy of your practice on that device — download it first if you want to keep it.
7. Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new version here with a new effective date, and — if the change means a new cookie — ask before setting it.
