What it does
The keyboard sizes itself to whatever screen it is on: two octaves on a phone, three on a tablet, up to four on a desktop, with keys as big as the space allows. Shift the whole thing up or down by octaves to reach any part of the piano. Play chords with several fingers, glide across the keys, and hold the sustain pedal so notes ring the way they would with the right foot down. Note names can be shown on every key, and the tuning reference (A4) can be set anywhere from 430 to 450 Hz to match a piano that isn't at concert pitch.
What it is for
This is not a substitute for an instrument, and it does not try to be. It is the keyboard you reach for when the piano is in another room or another city:
- Check a voicing you are trying to remember, or hear an interval before you sing it.
- Find your note before sight singing without a pitch pipe.
- Answer ear-training questions — the same keyboard module is the answer surface in the ear training drills, so what you learn there carries over.
- Sketch an idea on the train, then play it properly later.
The sound is a simple synthesized tone that speaks quickly and sustains cleanly, chosen because it is honest about pitch. It is not trying to imitate a Steinway.
Built as a module
The keyboard is one reusable piece of Chopinly — layout, touch handling, sustain and voicing live in a library that any tool can mount. That is why the ear-training drills, the pitch pipe and this page all behave the same way, and why a chord notebook or a harmony trainer can be added later without inventing a second keyboard.
